AUCTION on 22ND June 2018
Theatre Room (Bretforton Grange) Ltd Near Evesham has instructed Bigwood Fine Art Auctioneers in the sale of part of their bequest from the two founding patrons of the Theatre barn. The AUCTION on 22ND June 2018 commencing at 10.30am will include a major part of the contents from The Grange Bretforton in preparation for its refurbishment and the reopening of the Theatre next year. The funds raised will assist in the future reopening of the Theatre.
The founders of the Theatre include one who served in the Second World War as part of the 617 (Dambusters) Squadron, he went on to be a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company and received an OBE for services to the Arts. On his retirement from the stage he decided to found a charitably run Theatre with help from his fellow patron who had been a professional chef. The Theatre also received generous sponsorship from honorary patrons such as Dame Peggy Ashcroft and Paul Schofield CH, CBE. Without this support the Theatre could not have succeeded for over 30 years giving many people memorable evenings that included a performance by professional artists followed by an equally memorable meal.
Also attending the sale with their recent purchases will be BBC’s Celebrity Antique Road Trip just to add to the mood of theatre on the day.
The auction sale will be on line 7 days before the auction and live bidding will be available via the-saleroom.com.
Viewing will take place between 2pm and 7pm on Thursday 21st June 2018 and most lots will be illustrated on this website
