A LATE 17TH CENTURY DESIGN SILVER GILT SNUFF BOX with cast and chased decoration in the Chinoiserie style, the hinged cover with figures in landscape, to the sides a running scene of figures and blossom, to the underside an engraved inscription TheGift of K.Charles 2 to Mrs Givin. Her son Charles Duke of St. Albans gave this to me Lawrance Answorth 1720 who had then the honour to be Head Butler to Him it is hallmarked to the interior London 1979 and numbered 163/500. (Believed to be a copy of M.700-1926 in the Victoria and Albert Museum, 7cm wide, 125g
