HEADING - LOTS 435-496 PETER ASPINDALE TOOK OVER HIS FATHERS ROD MAKING BUSINESS JAMES ASPINDALE & SONS IN REDDITCH. Their branded rods carried the name Dalesman, a classic range for the discerning angler. The company was also famous for their patent Rod Carrier, mounted to a car roof, it was ahead of its time. The photograph above was featured in The Angling Times in 1961 shows Peter as Hampshire Avon Champion with his Father James Aspindale with the winning net of fish 52lbs 12.75oz. A Chub to 3lb 14ozs and Roach to 1lb 14ozs. In 1986 Peter was reported as landing one of the best Grayling for years while holidaying in Ringwood, 2lbs 12ozs, caught on the River Test at Romsey.
